This is all contributes to Leeds City Region's aim to be carbon neutral by 2038.

Transport Project of the Year

Halifax Bus Station redevelopment won Transport Project of the Year at the 2024 British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA). Speaking of the project, BCIA judges said:

"We were inspired by the solution which improved accessibility for all users, safety through deconflicting bus manoeuvres and security for the public through better visibility across the station. Topography and the position of the bus station as a gateway to the town was further enhanced through the design providing a 5th elevation of a green roof, benefitting from using rainwater run off as well as PV panels. All of this was achieved whilst keeping bus operations going during the build as well as sympathetically incorporating 3 Grade II listed buildings."
