The plans have now been submitted for the redevelopment of Wigan & Leigh College's main site, which would see the demolition of the current outdated buildings to make way for a new 116,000 sq ft facility.
The proposals are for a new three-storey educational facility, which would provide capacity for 1,500 pupils and include a range of classrooms, seminar rooms, IT suites, specialist rooms, laboratories, and meeting rooms. The building, which would be net zero in operation, would also feature a publicly accessible restaurant, florist and salon, all of which will be operated by students.
